May Enter: |

Any
student attending school in Sangamon County, Grades
6-12. |

| What
May Be Entered: |
|
|
Any creative, ORIGINAL work of art (any size, any medium, any subject matter, 2-D or 3-D) created within the last year. There is no criteria for subject matter. Please don’t have any pre-conceived notions of what you think we want to see. We want what you love to create!
CD of images may be submitted ONLY if actual work is
unavailable due to exhibition conflict.
LIMIT ONE ENTRY PER STUDENT. |

And Where To Enter: |

All entries must be dropped off the week of March 5-9, 2012 (9:00-5:00). All entries from a school should be dropped off by ONE individual from that school. All entries should be wrapped or packaged together in a portfolio or box. Entries must be dropped off at: Hoogland Center for the Arts, 420 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL. If the piece is large or fragile, please make special arrangements for drop-off using the contact information below. We will do our best to handle each piece carefully while in our care. No entries will be accepted after 5:00 p.m. Friday, March 9. |

Each student must complete the entry form and secure it to their entry. |

Will Artwork Be Returned After Judging: |
|
|
Entries will be available to be picked up March 16 or March 19 ( 9:00-5:00) at Hoogland Center for the Arts. Please have only one representative pick up all entries from your school. Award winning pieces will be retained and exhibited in the Old State Capitol during the Art Fair, May 19 & 20, 2012 unless they are needed for another contest or exhibition. |

Student whose work is selected for the poster, $200, framing (2-D) or mounting (3-D) of the piece and a framed poster; second place recognition, $150; third place recognition, $100; and honorable mention awards of $50 in each of the three grade categories (6-8, 9-11 & 12). In addition, the instructor of the winning artist will receive a $300 grant for the purchase of art materials for classroom use! |
